The Opportunity

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities for the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations applicable to the financial services industry, as well as strong leadership and communication skills. Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:
  • Manage and coordinate all aspects of the company's tax function, including federal, state, and international tax compliance and planning
  • Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns, estimated tax payments, and other tax-related filings
  • Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position
  • Provide technical tax advice on complex financial transactions and products
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure tax implications are considered in business decisions
  • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the organization
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, external auditors, and tax advisors
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals
  • Prepare and present tax-related reports and analyses for senior management

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree in Taxation preferred
  • CPA or equivalent professional qualification required
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in tax, with at least 4 years in a managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and tax accounting principles
  • Experience in the financial services industry, with knowledge of tax issues related to banking, investments, or insurance products
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities
  • Proficiency in tax software and MS Office suite

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
  • Experience with international tax planning and compliance
  • Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations
  • Familiarity with tax technology and process improvement initiatives

This role offers a competitive salary range of $135K - $170K, commensurate with experience, as well as a hybrid work model that balances in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.
