Harrison Western, a leader in design and construction services for the mining and civil sectors, is currently seeking a skilled Electrician specializing in shaft and mine operations. This role is crucial for the ongoing development of a new utility shaft at a significant Department of Energy facility.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Following directives from the Master Electrician
- Executing installation and maintenance tasks on electric mining machinery and infrastructure
- Assisting with Galloway operations as required
- Troubleshooting PLCs and circuit boards
- Installing DC Drives and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Setting up cables and junction boxes within the shaft
- Interpreting electrical schematics for proper installation
- Carrying out high voltage installations and switching
- Supporting miners, mechanics, and top landers during non-essential electrical tasks
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Ability to follow supervisory guidance
- Awareness of safety hazards and risks
- Familiarity with necessary tools and equipment
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Flexibility to work in various physical positions
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- MSHA Electrical certification
- Personal hand tools
- Experience in shaft operations is advantageous
