ROLE OVERVIEW: The CBRN Enterprise Architect is responsible for crafting and developing enterprise architectures that facilitate capability enhancement for the management of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) threats. This role involves providing technical guidance in the creation, revision, and upkeep of architecture views and data that comply with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and the Joint Capabilities Integration Development System (JCIDS) standards. The architect will also act as a technical liaison concerning architecture design and software enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Generate comprehensive DoDAF operational architectures as part of a collaborative Enterprise Architecture Team. Collaborate with both internal and external enterprise architects to align operational and systems architectures for CBRN capability development. Support the creation of architectures for multiple JCIDS requirements documents or Capabilities Based Assessments (CBA) annually.
  • Contribute to the development of overarching operational concept architectures, producing one to two per year.
  • Ensure compliance of all architecture views and associated data with DoDAF and Warfighter Mission Area specifications.
  • Guarantee that all architectures satisfy JCIDS requirements.
  • Develop architectures consistent with the Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) framework.
  • Collaborate with JRO Integrators and Subject-Matter Experts to create architectures that fulfill capability requirements for CBRN Defense.
  • Maintain existing and legacy architectures through Government-approved configuration management.
  • Refine and adhere to the architecture development processes of the Enterprise Architecture Team, including configuration management.
  • Facilitate the use of architecture software products across both Unclassified and Classified networks.
  • Actively assist in transitioning from System Architect to Cameo/MagicDraw as the primary enterprise architecture tool.
  • Troubleshoot specialized architecture software tools as necessary, utilizing a toolset that includes System Architect, MagicDraw/Cameo, and Erwin Data Modeler.
  • Provide support to System Administrators on routine maintenance and migrations.
  • Conduct data recovery efforts as needed.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent military experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of generalized enterprise architecture experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in producing military operational and/or systems architectures using the DoDAF.
  • Hands-on experience with DoDAF Operational Views (OVs), Capability Views (CVs), and/or System Views (SVs).
  • Proven expertise in Unicom System Architect and Cameo/MagicDraw.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with a consistent ability to deliver high-quality work products in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently on tasks, collaborate effectively in a team environment, and take initiative with minimal guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze complex problems.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in CBRN defense or CWMD program-specific architecture.
  • Expertise in ERwin Data Modeler software.
  • Familiarity with Extensible Markup Language (XML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML), and/or Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Knowledge of Unified Profile for DoDAF and MoDAF (UPDM) and/or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) architecture frameworks.
