Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of military children? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Operation Hero Program Facilitator to join our team at the Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads.
About the RoleThe Operation Hero Program Facilitator will work with elementary students (grades 2-5) to develop a positive rapport and guide their learning through team-building, interactive activities, and engaging lessons that focus on character development and resilience. The ideal candidate will have experience in an instructional capacity and be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities that promote character development and resilience
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and school staff
- Collaborate with the school to create a comfortable learning environment
- Assist in planning and executing a special graduation ceremony and reception for Operation Hero students
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Have earned a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have experience in an instructional capacity as a teacher or child care lead
- Be able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
