Position Overview

The Clinical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the healthcare team by assisting with patient care and administrative tasks. This position requires flexibility and the ability to travel to various clinics within the designated region.

Key Details
  • Department: Ascension Medical Group-Family Medicine (Float Pool)
  • Schedule: 36 hours/week with variable hours based on clinic requirements, Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, and occasional Saturdays.

*Daily travel to multiple clinics is required.*

Primary Responsibilities

The Clinical Assistant will assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the supervision of a physician. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting treatments as directed by the physician or registered nurse.
  • Performing specific clinical tasks as required.
  • Conducting patient interviews, measuring vital signs, and documenting information in patient records.
  • Preparing examination rooms for patient assessments.
  • Carrying out basic clerical tasks such as answering phones, maintaining records, and filing documents.
  • Managing materials by ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
  • Ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Medical Assistant certification is preferred.

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant cumulative job-specific experience is required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification may substitute for education or experience when applicable.
