Job Summary:Our client, a leading organization in the wound care sector, is seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Director of Operations (DOO) to oversee the operational functions at their San Antonio office. This critical role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in healthcare operations, particularly those familiar with wound care management.
Key Responsibilities:- Operational Leadership: Oversee and enhance daily operations to ensure high-quality service delivery and operational efficiency within the wound care practice, aligning with best practices in healthcare management.
- Intake and Authorization Management: Effectively manage intake processes, scheduling, and prior authorization procedures tailored specifically for wound care services, ensuring a streamlined patient experience.
- Regulatory Compliance: Conduct thorough Medicare audits and maintain compliance with Medicare regulations and guidelines pertinent to wound care, safeguarding the practice's operational integrity.
- Clinical Collaboration: Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize workflows and enhance patient care processes, ensuring seamless integration of clinical and operational functions in wound management.
- Performance Monitoring: Utilize key performance indicators (KPIs) to analyze departmental performance and patient satisfaction, making data-driven decisions to improve care quality.
- Policy Development: Design and implement comprehensive policies and procedures that streamline operations and elevate service delivery in wound care, in alignment with industry standards.
- Staff Development: Supervise and mentor operational staff, ensuring they receive ongoing training and development in wound care practices to foster a knowledgeable and competent team.
- Team Engagement: Conduct regular staff meetings to discuss operational challenges, promote staff engagement, and enhance overall team performance within a collaborative environment.
- Insurance Liaison: Serve as a liaison with insurance companies to oversee insurance benefits verification for patients requiring wound care, ensuring appropriate coverage and reimbursement processes.
- Regulatory Awareness: Stay abreast of healthcare regulations and emerging trends in the wound care industry to ensure compliance and adapt best practices accordingly.
- Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree may be considered with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in healthcare operations.
- A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in healthcare operations, with a strong preference for candidates who possess specific experience in wound care management or a related practice setting.
- In-depth knowledge of Medicare regulations, Medicare audits, intake processes, scheduling, and prior authorization within the healthcare framework.
- Demonstrated leadership prowess, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams effectively.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment while managing multiple demands and tasks efficiently.
