Veterinary Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at South Carolina Veterinary Specialists & Emergency Care, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner. As a key member of our veterinary healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to our patients and their owners, while working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position that requires a high level of energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. As a Veterinary Technician, you will work closely with our Emergency and Urgent Care veterinarians to provide lifesaving care to sick and/or injured animals. Your responsibilities will include:
- Utilizing specialized imaging and positioning techniques to aid in diagnosis and treatment
- Operating and maintaining a variety of diagnostic equipment, including blood/chemistry analyzers and dopplers
- Providing basic and advanced anesthesia/sedation monitoring and troubleshooting
- Assisting with wound care, splinting, and bandaging
- Administering medications and performing basic and advanced venipuncture
- Providing basic and advanced life support, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Assessing and triaging medical emergencies
- Monitoring hospitalized patients and providing treatment for intensive care patients

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least two years of experience in an emergency veterinary setting or general practice, performing high-level skills. You will also need to possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and be able to work effectively in a team environment. A sense of calm and dependability, as well as the ability to work overnight shifts and weekends, is also essential.
