About the Role

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Atrium Health Charlotte.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures in accordance with departmental protocols and standards. The successful candidate will operate MRI scanners and associated equipment with a high level of proficiency, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Responsibilities
  • Examine requests and verify orders on each assigned patient, referring any discrepancies to the Radiologist.
  • Properly identify patients using two patient identifiers and assist them during the procedure, explaining the process clearly and documenting their information on relevant worksheets.
  • Interview patients to gather complete medical histories, reviewing electronic medical records as necessary to obtain pertinent clinical information.
  • Assume responsibility for the exam from beginning to completion, preparing and administering IV contrast as required.
  • Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a Radiologist if needed, recognizing abnormal anatomy and processing additional images or measurements as instructed.
  • Perform basic patient care functions, informing nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and initiating life support measures when necessary.
  • Operate radiology computer systems to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies, documenting contrast administration in the medication administration record.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited two-year AMA-approved program in Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology or active enrollment in an ARMRIT or ARRT registry-eligible program.
  • ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology or NMTCB certification in Nuclear Medicine with advanced registry from the ARMRIT or ARRT in MRI within one year of hire.
  • CPR certification required.
Working Conditions

This role requires moderate to heavy physical efforts in lifting and moving patients, equipment, and supplies, as well as occasional standing, walking, and sitting during normal operation.

Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
