Advanced Systems Engineer

The Senior Systems Engineer at DCS Corp will deliver hardware and software engineering support to the Ground Vehicle Division, offering specialized technical guidance and applying extensive expertise in the lifecycle management of ground vehicles, both manned and unmanned. This role involves overseeing significant projects related to the design, development, integration, testing, sustainment, and enhancement of various prototype and legacy Army ground vehicle systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate within a team environment alongside Army customers and DCS engineers, forming a cohesive project team that includes government and contract personnel across multiple locations. Utilize Subject Matter Expertise in the ground vehicle sector to influence architecture, standards, and requirements development, as well as technology planning and management strategies for diverse combat vehicle platforms and subsystems. Engage with CCDC Research & Technology Integration Groups, PEO, and external Army entities to facilitate architectural and technological advancements that support both legacy and new vehicle programs.
Essential Qualifications:
Due to the sensitive nature of customer-related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
A Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 15 years of experience in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering, or a Master's degree in the same fields with at least 12 years of experience.
Proven experience in large-scale software system development for ground combat systems.
Demonstrated project management skills, including execution, strategy formulation, risk mitigation, and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and organizations to enhance architectural and technological solutions in Army ground and autonomous vehicle domains.
Ability to critically assess systems architectures to guide their evolution across ground vehicle sectors.
Familiarity with military C4ISR equipment integration for Ground Combat Vehicle Platforms.
Present advanced concepts and architectures aimed at system enhancements and improvements.
Experience with Systems Engineering and Software Engineering development methodologies.
Knowledge of military communications equipment relevant to Ground Combat Vehicle Platforms.
Understanding of standards such as MIL-810, MIL-1275, J1939, RTSP, RTP, UDP, TCP, H.264, etc.
Willingness to travel to various customer and contractor facilities and test centers (approximately 10% travel).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Systems Engineering and Integration for Ground Combat and Military Systems.
Familiarity with SysML and the development and evaluation of system models.
Support the creation of concept studies and trade-off analyses during the research and development phases related to C4ISR hardware and software systems, subsystems, and components.
Experience in developing and reviewing program milestone documentation (SEMP, TEMP, ISP, SSS, SSDD).
Ability to coordinate with Army organizations to foster strategic relationships, collaborate with high-performance teams, lead business initiatives, and support program objectives.
Participate in systems technical reviews (IDR, PDR, and CDR) and evaluate technical documents produced by the government and OEMs, including system architecture diagrams, requirements, and performance specifications.
Assist in developmental testing activities at Army proving grounds, which will involve monitoring and witnessing testing procedures.
