Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to join our team at Advocate Health. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating CT equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, obtaining medical history from patients, and providing radiation protection and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT equipment to perform basic and intermediate diagnostic procedures, including imaging processing, body, head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, contrast, orthopedic, and extremity scans.
  • Obtain medical history from patients and compare requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.
  • Position patients and select proper scanning factors, adjust factors to attain the appropriate images, and provide radiation protection and safety in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of the Radiologist, and assist in the proper scanning techniques.
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images, including patient name, medical record unit (MRU) number, and location or position of scan on all images.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with various regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system, and document billing codes of procedures performed to ensure accurate patient charges.
  • Identify equipment performance issues and perform equipment quality assurance tests and calibration procedures, and report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, which require lifting and pushing/pulling, while utilizing proper technique.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computed Tomography (CT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 18 months.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
Working Conditions

The CT Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, operating CT equipment, and interacting with patients, physicians, and other staff members. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull with 30 lbs. of force.
