Position Summary:

The Refrigeration Systems Specialist is tasked with the operation, oversight, and preventive maintenance of refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor refrigeration systems, including compressors, components, condensers, and air conditioning units, while performing scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and repair of all refrigeration and ice conveying equipment in production and storage areas.
  • Initiate equipment startup during pre-shift, including ice makers and chillers.
  • Perform electrical troubleshooting on process and refrigeration equipment.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and logs as required.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic mathematical skills are essential.
  • Capable of taking precise measurements and maintaining accurate records throughout the shift.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Must demonstrate reliability with regular attendance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and pre-employment physical is required.
  • Some positions may necessitate proficiency in reading, writing, and/or speaking English.
Physical Requirements:
  • Standing for extended periods (8 hours or more).
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weights up to 50 lbs or more.
  • Operating handheld and/or mechanical machinery.
  • Walking, climbing stairs, and ladders.
  • Gripping, grasping, and twisting with hands and wrists.
  • Bending and stooping for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to wear a respirator and/or work in confined spaces.
Working Conditions:

Shifts typically last around 12 hours, with varying start times. Overtime and weekend work may be necessary. Employees must be prepared to work in extreme temperature conditions, including environments below -20 degrees.

Mandatory seasonal work may occur, requiring commitment for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during peak periods.

Job assignments may vary based on departmental needs, and employees may work in diverse conditions including damp, cold, hot, and warm environments, as well as around loud machinery and chemicals.
