POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager for Additive Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing projects related to New Product Innovation (NPI) within the realm of additive manufacturing technology. Reporting directly to the Director of PMO, this role collaborates closely with the Orchid additive manufacturing team and external customer teams to effectively plan and execute projects aimed at expanding Orchid's additive manufacturing business. This position requires interaction with site leadership and involves managing large-scale, multi-site programs, including the reporting of project status to the executive leadership team. The role is hybrid, requiring four days on-site at our Lansing facility, with occasional domestic travel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead project teams to achieve objectives for complex projects that may involve multiple Orchid facilities.
  • Organize and oversee project operations, including engineering design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and project closure, utilizing Orchid's project management methodologies and tools.
  • Manage the development and preparation of business cases, cost/benefit analyses, and project budgets.
  • Identify and negotiate schedules, milestones, and resources necessary to meet project goals; prioritize tasks based on capacity, deadlines, and critical paths.
  • Engage key stakeholders and foster their active participation; maintain relationships across multi-functional teams.
  • Ensure clear project scope and manage changes, communications, issues, and risks to meet objectives.
  • Monitor key project deliverables; evaluate and report progress in terms of quality, financial, and performance metrics to relevant stakeholders.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of all project team members; coordinate problem resolution and provide direction, leadership, and training to team participants.
  • Maintain high standards for managerial duties and responsibilities.
  • Oversee project financial performance to ensure quality, delivery, and service within budget constraints.
  • Develop comprehensive project management controls for complex initiatives.
  • Provide performance feedback to project team members.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between customers and project teams to ensure satisfaction.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes.
  • Support quality and compliance by adhering to all Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) requirements, including documentation and plans to meet/exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for quality.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of project leadership experience, including 1-2 years managing complex projects (Required)
  • 4+ years of experience in manufacturing (Preferred)
  • Experience in project management (Preferred)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • 10% travel may be required
