Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing routine and highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate advanced imaging equipment and apply ionizing radiation to patients in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Position patients, select radiation exposure parameters, and image patients to ensure accurate and high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Assist physicians with specialized diagnostic and interventional procedures, including the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs).
  • Monitor patient condition throughout procedures and respond effectively to patient care emergencies.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy and awareness of all radiation and patient safety issues involved with invasive procedures.
  • Participate in the scheduling, assignment, and review of work performed by Interventional Radiographers.
  • Provide technical guidance to Interventional staff and assist in maintaining a smooth operational flow and maximum patient volume.
Requirements
  • Recent (within the last twelve months) minimum three years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist, including one year recent experience in Interventional Radiology (IR).
  • Graduation from an accredited, ARRT eligible educational program in Radiologic Technology.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Vascular Interventional Radiography, Cardiac Interventional Radiography, or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, radiographic positioning, surgical and nursing procedures.
  • Ability to operate all radiology equipment, including radiographic machines, radiographic/fluoroscopic machines, and image processors.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to work with patients, medical and nursing personnel.
