Full-Time RN Admissions - Day and Night Shifts Available
Agave Ridge Behavioral Health Hospital
We are a newly established behavioral health facility dedicated to providing exceptional mental health services in a state-of-the-art environment.
Agave Ridge Behavioral Health Hospital is a 100-bed acute psychiatric care center that delivers a comprehensive range of inpatient behavioral health services for adults facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Key Responsibilities
As an Admissions RN, you will be integral to facilitating a seamless admissions experience for our patients.
Primary Duties:
- Assess medical documentation for all admissions, conduct medication reconciliation, and secure admission orders from physicians.
- Coordinate emergency transfers for patients with medical needs that exceed our facility's capabilities.
- Evaluate referrals from hospitals, facilities, and community organizations, determining medical and behavioral acuity while adhering to response timeframes.
- Address inquiries regarding our facility, providing accurate recommendations and information.
- Conduct assessments to identify the appropriate level of care required for each patient.
- Collaborate with medical and psychiatric staff to ensure suitable recommendations and admissions.
- Oversee the admissions process, including assessments, consent acquisition, and inventory of patient belongings.
- Perform insurance benefit verifications and obtain initial pre-authorization for treatment and admissions.
- Monitor patient status throughout the admissions process, adhering to facility policies and physician directives.
- Utilize online systems to track and review referrals.
- Communicate anticipated admissions promptly to designated internal personnel.
- Ensure timely acquisition of all clinical information, including medical comorbidities, from referral sources or patients.
- Schedule and conduct pre-admission assessments, consult with admitting physicians, and relay disposition recommendations to patients or their families.
- Maintain accurate medical record documentation to facilitate payer authorization at the required level of care.
- Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admissions within payer guidelines.
- Admit patients into the registration and accounting system, ensuring all necessary admission and consent forms are completed.
- Exhibit a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor towards patients, prioritizing their safety and addressing concerns or complaints promptly.
- Coordinate care for patients not being admitted, ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up care and referrals.
- Conduct safety checks and provide supervision as dictated by special precautions and individualized guidelines.
Qualifications
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented professional who is committed to delivering outstanding patient care and facilitating efficient admissions processes.
Required Qualifications:
- An Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
- At least one year of experience in a clinical or observational role, preferably in a relevant specialty area.
Licenses/Certifications:
- A clear and active nursing license in the state is mandatory.
- CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification are required (training will be provided upon hire).
- First aid certification may be necessary based on state or facility regulations.
