Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Interdisciplinary General Engineer to join our team at the Coast Guard Exchange System. As a key member of our Facilities Team, you will be responsible for executing projects from preliminary identification to project closeout, utilizing your expertise in engineering and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage design, construction, and alteration projects involving government/leased buildings and other structures.
  • Address and solve complex engineering design, planning, coordination, code requirements, and other engineering-related matters.
  • Review private sector architects and consulting engineers' designs for programmatic conformance with Coast Guard policies, codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Develop specifications and drawings for projects.
  • Represent the Contracting Officer on Architect/Engineer and Construction contracts as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
  • Prepare independent government estimates and review contractor proposals.
  • Participate in negotiations with contractors.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in engineering and project management, with a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program. You must also have at least one year of specialized experience in managing projects, developing specifications, and coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors.
