Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Kansas City, KS facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for planning and performing all maintenance functions, including preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all equipment throughout the plant.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform diagnostic evaluations on equipment and make repairs as needed, ensuring that repairs are performed safely, properly, and in the shortest amount of time possible to maintain the highest level of operational readiness.
  2. Oversee workflow and set priorities within the maintenance shop, planning and scheduling all in-house repairs, leading the maintenance team, and overseeing outside contractors making repairs to the facility.
  3. Safely perform or guide preventive, corrective, and scheduled maintenance on a daily basis on a variety of machinery within the plant, including fire tube boilers, steam delivery systems, water softeners, air handling equipment, commercial washers, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and conveyor systems.
  4. Perform light electrical maintenance on all plant equipment, including 480V/240V/120V/24V power systems.
  5. Document results through completed work orders based on schedule and priority or as required.
  6. Provide training, direction, and assist technicians, operators, and laborers as needed.
  7. Vigorously support Stericycle's commitment to safety by complying with safety regulations and maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced maintenance professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field. Preferred experience includes good knowledge and understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electrical, pumps, and plumbing, as well as experience with forklifts, man-lifts, and various rigging equipment. Must have experience with lockout/tag out and permit confined space programs related to maintenance activities.
