Key Responsibilities:

Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures for both inpatient and outpatient populations through the administration of radiopharmaceuticals and the proficient operation of various imaging and counting equipment. Maintain precise records of radioactive materials from receipt through administration and disposal. Serve as a clinical resource for unit staff and ensure adherence to current standards of practice.

Value You Bring to the Team:

  • Execute a variety of technical procedures involving radionuclides for diagnosis, therapy, and treatment of medical conditions. Operate gamma camera and computer imaging systems, including planar and SPECT, to produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by a radiologist or nuclear medicine physician. Adhere to all safety regulations regarding radiation exposure, ensuring minimal risk to patients and staff.
  • Safely and efficiently manage the processing of radiopharmaceuticals from receipt and preparation through administration and disposal.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, providing clear information and guidance regarding procedures while addressing their physical and emotional needs.
  • Assist patients during examinations and ensure proper positioning for optimal imaging results.

Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Technologist in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine - R.T. (N)(ARRT) or certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Licensed Radiology Technologist in the state of employment if applicable.
