About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Governance and Affiliate Relations Specialist to join our team at AAOS. This role will provide specialized support to the Governance Department, performing a wide range of administrative tasks for the Chief Governance Officer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the governance staff in various initiatives and interact with key volunteer leaders.
  • Develop and distribute Board communications, prepare meeting notices, and schedule events for Board activities.
  • Oversee specialized aspects of governance initiatives, including coordination of International Education Programming.
  • Solicit IDEA Grant applications, track grant applications, and compile necessary information for distribution to the Diversity Advisory Board members.
  • Process Resident Delegate applications, serve as subject matter expert for website design of governance pages, and manage the development and distribution of the Presidential Line Master Calendar.
  • Oversee the development of the annual Presidential Line travel protocol guidebook, review international meeting schedules, and prepare necessary communications.
  • Manage coordination and communications for the Carousel Group participation at the AAOS Annual Meeting.
  • Assist department staff with Annual Meeting preparation, attend the meeting to support governance initiatives, and provide administrative support for the National Orthopaedic Leadership Conference/Fall Meeting.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus two years or more of college.
  • 3-5 years of experience as an administrative assistant with proven communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, maturity, and discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software and excellent organizational skills.
  • Collaborative team member with a mindset of growth and continuous learning.
Travel and Qualifications
  • Up to 15 days of travel per year.
  • Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, plus two years or more of college, and 3-5 years of experience as an administrative assistant.
Salary Range

$65,000-70,000
