Night Security Specialist for Weekend Shifts

Position Overview:

The Night Security Specialist is responsible for conducting thorough patrols of designated areas to maintain a secure and safe environment. This role involves monitoring for potential hazards such as fires, vandalism, or suspicious activities and reporting any concerns to the Security Supervisor or Assistant Manager.

In emergency situations, the specialist will respond promptly and provide necessary assistance, collaborating with local, state, and federal law enforcement as required. Additionally, support will be offered to medical staff during critical incidents.

This position requires a commitment to the mission of Hebrew Senior Life, ensuring the dignity and choice of residents are upheld in all interactions. The specialist will engage actively with patients, residents, staff, and visitors to foster a positive atmosphere while delivering safe and efficient care.

Work Schedule:
Friday, Sunday, Monday overnight, and Tuesday from 3 PM to 11:30 PM.

Specific Duties:

  • Respond to alarms and security-related emergencies.
  • Assist with requests for security services, including unlocking doors and providing escorts.
  • Complete necessary activity logs, incident reports, and safety audits as directed.
  • Conduct tours of assigned areas as outlined in post orders.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. is mandatory.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service.
  • Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license is essential.
  • Certification in Non-Violent Crisis Prevention is required upon employment and annually thereafter.
  • Must exhibit professionalism, proactivity, collaboration, and a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills are necessary.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining sound judgment.
  • Typing speed of 45 WPM is required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including databases, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Windows O/S for data entry and reporting.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to perform interior and exterior tours in various weather conditions.
  • Able to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Must be able to conduct extensive foot tours of the campus.
