Job Description

As a Railroad Field Engineer at SPRING, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of our rail projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing input on project schedules and preparing field work packages to ensure timely completion.
  • Verifying installation quantities and conducting field safety and quality inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Performing procurement quantity takeoffs and compiling necessary information for submittals.
  • Assisting the Superintendent with coordination of material deliveries and ensuring that work is correctly cost-coded.
  • Providing schedule update information to the project scheduler and maintaining accurate records.
  • Attending necessary briefings and safety meetings to stay informed about project developments.
  • Participating in Herzog's Culture and promoting a safe work environment.

Requirements for this position include:

  • 2-5 years of experience in railroad construction, with a degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • AutoCAD skills are a plus, with training provided as needed.
  • Construction management course work or internship experience is highly valued.
  • Must be flexible in working in both office and field environments and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
