Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Seasonal CT Technologist PRN to join our team at Rapides Regional Medical Center. As a Seasonal CT Technologist PRN, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and safety while operating CT equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns, and extraneous radiation.

Responsibilities
  • Determine the most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.
  • Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
  • Work under the direction of the Radiologist at all times.
  • Take x-ray, CT call according to monthly schedule after the closing of regular department hours.
  • Be competent in the use of CR and PACS.
  • Assess, evaluate, and inform physician of changes in patient's condition during an exam.
  • Complete all work before leaving, including checking with the nurses' stations, ER, Surgery, holding, etc.
  • Perform all quality control checks, as prescribed.
  • Maintain accurate QC logs, service records, etc.
  • Perform highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed exam; document any deviations.
  • Understand contraindications and potential hazards of different exams.
  • Interact professionally with patient/family.
  • Ascertain patient understanding of process and informed consent.
  • Understand and practice proper use of all equipment; never operate equipment inconsistent with manufacturer's instruction.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT).
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician.
