At Balance Health, we are seeking a skilled Podiatrist to join our team at our Virginia 1Foot2Foot brand. Our comprehensive lower-extremity focused Physician Practice provides leading podiatrists, orthopedic surgeons, and physical therapists with operational support, allowing them to focus on delivering exceptional patient care.

Our 1Foot2Foot brand has four locations across the Norfolk, VA metro area, providing exceptional care to informed patients of all ages. Our experienced podiatrists listen and respond to patients, treating each one as a unique individual deserving of first-rate, personalized care. We prevent, identify, and treat diabetic foot problems with outstanding success, enabling our patients to lead active, healthy lives.

Under the direction of our Chief Medical Officer, the Podiatrist will provide routine and referral podiatric services to patients. Key responsibilities include examining patients' legs and feet to diagnose diseases, treating bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles, and performing wound care management.

  • Examine patients' legs and feet to diagnose diseases and deformities
  • Treat bone, muscle, and joint disorders affecting the feet and ankles
  • Perform wound care management and diagnose diseases using medical histories, physical examinations, x-rays, and laboratory test results
  • Prescribe medications, corrective devices, physical therapy, or surgery as needed
  • Advise patients about treatments and foot and ankle care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems
  • Provide education and consultation to patients, family, and healthcare team
  • Provide health promotion and preventive medicine
  • Maintain accurate medical records on assigned patients

Requirements:

  • Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress
  • Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care
  • Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse patient, colleague, and vendor population
  • Proficiency with computers and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and EMR databases

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting/and or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to sit and stand for up to several hours at a time
  • Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
