Job Description:

At WFB Perkins Coie LLP, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated candidate to fill the role of Knowledge & Innovation Manager within our Intellectual Property (IP) practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in knowledge sharing and innovation, with experience in developing and implementing strategies to drive business growth and improve client outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Knowledge Sharing and Innovation Strategy

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive knowledge sharing and innovation strategy for the IP practice, aligned with the firm's overall goals and objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and technologies relevant to the IP practice, and leverage this knowledge to inform strategy and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and knowledge professionals across the firm to develop and implement knowledge sharing initiatives that drive business growth and improve client outcomes.

Knowledge Content Development and Management

  • Identify, develop, and test knowledge content and tools that support the IP practice, including templates, guides, and other resources.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of knowledge projects delegated to associates and business professionals, ensuring that they are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Organize and curate practice sites on the firm's intranet, ensuring that they are well-maintained and provide easy access to relevant knowledge content.

Practice Group Outreach and Education

  • Provide ongoing training and education to attorneys and business professionals within the IP practice, focusing on knowledge sharing and innovation best practices.
  • Promote the adoption of knowledge sharing and innovation technologies and tools within the IP practice, ensuring that they are well-integrated into the firm's overall knowledge management strategy.
  • Contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and innovation within the firm, encouraging collaboration and idea-sharing across practice groups.

Practice Group Liaison and Concierge

  • Provide high-level support to attorneys and business professionals within the IP practice, assisting them with locating relevant knowledge content and technologies.
  • Evaluate and recommend new and innovative knowledge and research tools and resources, ensuring that they align with the firm's overall knowledge management strategy.
  • Contribute to other knowledge-related projects within the IP practice, ensuring that they are completed on time and to a high standard.

Required Skills and Experience:

Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and productive relationships across the firm.

Ability to analyze complex problems and develop creative solutions.

Ability to exercise independent judgment and self-direct, with a strong sense of initiative and motivation.

Receptiveness to feedback and coaching, with a growth mindset.

Knowledge of legal concepts and technologies relevant to the IP practice.

Experience evaluating and implementing knowledge and research tools and technologies.

Fluency in standard MS Office applications, with the ability to quickly learn new collaboration and software tools.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Qualified candidates should have a law degree from an accredited law school and four or more years' experience practicing in an IP practice. Otherwise, candidate must have strong legal and technical experience in an IP practice. Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate a successful track record in client service and project management.
