POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a talented and innovative Visual Storyteller to join our dynamic news team. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about delivering compelling news stories. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced journalists and media professionals in a fast-paced setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize advanced digital cameras and editing tools to create engaging visual narratives.
  • Employ various media formats and techniques tailored to each unique story.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in editing software such as Edius, After Effects, and Bitcentral.
  • Incorporate drone technology to enhance storytelling with cinematic perspectives.
  • Collaborate daily with reporters, editors, and management to ensure cohesive news coverage.
  • Participate in editorial meetings and contribute ideas for impactful news stories.
  • Manage assignments that include breaking news, investigative pieces, and community events.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training or an Associate's Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of recent experience in news photojournalism, preferably in mid to major markets.
  • Strong communication skills and sound judgment in news situations.
  • Experience with live ENG remote operations and field editing.
  • Excellent skills in photography, lighting, audio, and non-linear editing.
  • Creative mindset with attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
