Role Summary

The New York Times is seeking a talented Photographer to join our team as a Fellow. As a member of our photography department, you will have the opportunity to work with our experienced photo editors and contribute to the creation of innovative visuals that tell the biggest news stories of the day.

Responsibilities

* Create compelling photography and video content that showcases your visual storytelling skills
* Develop and pitch your own story ideas, working closely with our photo editors to bring them to life
* Collaborate with colleagues across the newsroom to create engaging content that meets the highest standards of journalistic excellence
* Participate in training and social programs designed to support your growth and development as a photographer

Requirements

* A strong portfolio of work demonstrating your visual storytelling skills and ability to work in a fast-paced news environment
* Some experience reporting and photographing in news situations and on deadline
* Familiarity with photographic equipment, Photoshop, and other photo-editing software
* A commitment to journalistic independence and a strong understanding of our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world
