Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Defense Attorney to join our Bodily Injury (BI) unit as a Litigation Specialist. As a key member of our motor vehicle insurance defense litigation team, you will provide legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels in all aspects of litigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present legal pleadings, motions, statements, trial briefs, and negotiate settlements in a timely and effective manner.
  • Work closely with clients and claims partners to prepare reports on litigation, ensuring all appropriate defenses are leveraged to reach positive outcomes.
  • Analyze written discovery, depositions, medical records, and assess the value of claims to determine risk exposure.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk and achieve favorable outcomes in litigation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the state of Louisiana.
  • 2 years general/auto civil litigation experience.
