Hairstylist Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled cosmetology graduate to join our team as an assistant at R Collective, a high-end salon with locations in Birmingham and Clawson, MI.

The selected candidate will work closely with experienced stylists, providing exceptional customer service, and expanding their knowledge and creativity in the industry through ongoing education and training.

Estimated Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year

Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers, identify their preferences, and assist stylists in preparing guests for services.
• Help clients choose hairstyles and haircuts based on face shapes and tastes.
• Assist in washing, rinsing, and toning.
• Apply various hair coloring techniques, such as highlights, ombre, and balayage.
• Help create hairstyles for formal events and everyday looks, including braids, ponytails, and buns.
• Apply hair treatment products as needed.
• Maintain tidiness of beauty stations and sterilize tools.
• Cross-sell hair care products or services when appropriate.

Requirements:

• A valid license from a cosmetology school.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Physical stamina to stand for long hours.
• Flexibility to work in shifts.
