Position Overview:

The Housekeeping Support Staff at Grand Canyon University will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of hotel guest accommodations in accordance with established standards. This role will contribute to various functions within the hotel rooms division to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts thorough cleaning of guest rooms, storage spaces, and laundry facilities as assigned.
  • Reviews occupancy reports, guest arrivals, departures, and special room requests, ensuring adherence whenever feasible.
  • Identifies and reports any maintenance issues or items requiring repair to the Operations Manager.
  • Restocks supplies and amenities in guest rooms as necessary.
  • Disposes of waste and trash in designated areas.
  • Assists with inventory management of linens and supplies, as well as laundry tasks when needed.
  • Implements lost and found protocols.
  • Welcomes guests, addresses their concerns and requests effectively, and follows up to guarantee satisfaction.
  • Collaborates closely with the Front Desk to keep room status reports current, including notifications of check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, new reservations, room changes, special requests, and overall room availability.

Qualifications:
  • At least one year of experience in customer service or the hospitality sector.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Fosters positive relationships through effective communication and collaboration with colleagues and guests.
  • Exhibits strong attention to detail to meet cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to all safety, emergency, and accident prevention protocols.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to read and write proficiently.
  • Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Experience/Education:

Grand Canyon University emphasizes a student-first approach. Therefore, all candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria for student employment:
  • Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's or Master's program.
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for Bachelor’s students or 3.0 for Master’s students.
  • Must uphold good financial and academic standing with the University.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in termination.
