Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Associated Ready Mixed Concrete. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on our heavy-duty tractors and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Inspect and identify vehicle conditions, including wear and tear on equipment and vehicles.
  • Replace, install, and service brake systems, cab and sheet metal components, engine accessories, HVAC systems, hydraulic systems, and lighting electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle system engine failure and vehicle system transmission & gear box failure.
  • Follow manufacture service and troubleshooting procedures, diagnose and repair vehicle system.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Must have own tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates degree, technical school certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of heavy-duty tractor maintenance experience.
  • 5+ years experience of work on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • 3+ years experience welding.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is regularly exposed to wet or slippery ground conditions. Employees must wear the required personal protective equipment; up to and including safety vest, hard hat, ear protection, gloves, and safety glasses. Able to climb height up to 10 feet.
