Job Summary / Purpose:

The role involves executing a range of intricate specialized tasks essential for operating radiographic machinery to conduct vascular and neuroradiology angiographic and interventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct specialized tasks related to the operation of radiographic equipment to produce detailed radiographs of specific body areas while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
  2. Position and, if necessary, immobilize patients for accurate imaging.
  3. Support radiologists during angiographic and interventional procedures.
  4. Operate fluoroscopic equipment and position patients for swift imaging during contrast media administration.
  5. Prepare sterile trays and equipment, maintaining strict sterile techniques.
  6. Assist radiologists during procedures by managing instruments, operating equipment, and monitoring patient conditions.
  7. Scrub in to assist with the passage of catheters and guide wires.
  8. Load power injectors with contrast media and prepare for administration.
  9. Process and archive film, ensuring proper labeling and sequencing.
  10. Coordinate patient scheduling with referring physicians.
  11. Facilitate the orientation of new technologists and provide educational support to student technologists.
  12. Maintain patient records and statistical data, ensuring efficient patient flow within the radiographic suites.
  13. Manage supply inventory and place orders as needed.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:

Required Education:

Associates Degree in Radiology.

Licensure and Certifications:

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed in the state of Kentucky. BLS and ACLS certifications are also required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work with advanced technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least one year of experience in Interventional Angiography, Cardiac Catheterization, or Operating Room settings.
