About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Inspector to join our team at the City of Atlanta. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction projects that meet the city's infrastructure needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery of construction projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and city codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Perform skilled inspections of construction sites, maintaining accurate records and logs of activities, personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Review construction plans and specifications, contract documents, and other relevant materials to monitor projects and ensure conformance with rules and regulations.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure construction work is performed in accordance with specifications and plans.
  • Attend pre-construction, progress, and other meetings as necessary to monitor construction projects.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of engineering and inspections, as well as applicable laws, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with contractors, management, employees, and the general public.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction and engineering reports, blueprints, plans, and specifications.
