Job Overview

The Motor Vehicle Registration Clerk plays a crucial role in facilitating the public's vehicle registration needs. This position involves direct interaction with customers while managing various payment methods, including cash, checks, and credit card transactions. Responsibilities may also include organizing and managing inventory related to license plates and assisting visitors at the front entrance.

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide assistance to the public regarding motor vehicle registration processes and manage the queuing system at the entrance.

2. Accurately enter data related to vehicle registration renewals.

3. Collect fees for registrations and issue the appropriate license plates and/or stickers.

4. Maintain a balanced cash drawer, generate cash drawer reports, and complete daily financial reconciliations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

Desired qualifications include knowledge of vehicle registration processes, experience in customer service, bilingual capabilities, data entry proficiency, and familiarity with inventory management. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and operate mechanical or electrical equipment.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent with at least 6 months of experience in clerical roles involving significant public interaction; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
