The Role

As a Bartender at Illuminarium Atlanta, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional experience for our guests. You will be working in our Illuminarium Caf, which offers a unique food and beverage experience inspired by ingredients and customs from around the world. You will be responsible for operating the bar, preparing drinks, and providing information on menu options to guests. You will also be responsible for managing the operational readiness of the bar and setting up and breaking down the bar for events.

Essential Functions

  • Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Food & Beverage SOP
  • Ensure proficient up-to-date knowledge of all Illuminarium products, promotions, and services
  • Check guests' identification to verify legal age requirements and ensure they are not overserved
  • Remain observant to guests' needs and well-informed on menus and specials, utilizing suggestive sales techniques to drive revenue and sales
  • Operate the bar in the caf and the nighttime experience, prepare drinks, and provide information on menu options to guests
  • Manage operational readiness of the bar and set up and break down the bar for events
  • Ensure the bar and its surroundings remain clean, including the back of the bar, bar chairs, and general look and feel
  • Coordinate with Porters on inventory of china and smallwares
  • Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Certification as a mixologist from a reputable bartending school preferred
  • 1+ years of experience working as a bartender
  • Achieve and maintain current food handlers certification
  • Engaging, personable, and positive attitude; strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand and walk extended distances both indoors and outdoors, lift and transport items weighing 10-20 pounds, occasionally 30 pounds
  • Creative thinker, support with the creation of new items on the bar menu, anticipate guest needs
  • Ability to operate independently and with discretion and work effectively under pressure
  • Must have sufficient mobility to perform assigned tasks, including constant reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods of time
  • Eye for detail, flexibility in daily tasks, problem solver, result-oriented
  • Ability to retain detailed information related to all Illuminarium products, promotions, and services
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and guests; bi-lingual skills are preferred
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures, and regulations, including Legends' COVID Preparedness Plan and Standard Operating Procedures
