Wells Fargo is in search of a Senior Wealth Banking Specialist within Consumer and Small Business Banking, as part of our Branch Banking division.
Upon fulfilling the necessary licensing and SAFE registration, the Senior Wealth Banking Specialist LP (SAFE) will transition into the Senior Wealth Banking Specialist (SAFE) role.
The following job profile aims to provide a general overview of the responsibilities of Senior Wealth Banking Specialists; however, daily tasks and obligations may vary by branch and individual banker based on several factors, including (but not limited to) experience level, client portfolio, banking services offered, and specific client requirements.
In this role you will:
Individuals who are not fully licensed upon hiring will engage in the Branch Banking Licensed Banker licensing program as a Senior Wealth Banking Specialist LP (SAFE).
Upon successful completion, employees will advance to the Senior Wealth Banking Specialist (SAFE) role and undertake the following responsibilities:
1. Actively seek out new affluent individual and small business clients, while enhancing existing relationships through outreach and scheduled meetings.
2. Evaluate and address moderately complex customer issues for potential resolution through the discretionary application of relevant resolution protocols.
3. Escalate banking-related challenges or business risks that necessitate thorough analysis.
4. Provide guidance to clients on various recommended financial options and services available.
5. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Wells Fargo's banking, credit, and investment solutions and services.
6. Identify client objectives and aspirations for business, mortgage, retirement, and investment services, and collaborate closely with colleagues in Business Banking Advisory Services, Mortgage, and Wealth and Investment Management to fulfill these identified needs and goals, in alignment with clients' overall financial situations.
7. Recognize and manage risks within the business by adhering to policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
8. Gather information directly from clients regarding income, assets, investments, and credit; analyze this information to create tailored plans that highlight Wells Fargo's banking solutions and services that best address clients' financial needs and aspirations.
9. Cultivate relationships with branch team members, affluent clients, and partners to acquire, deepen, and retain relationships, ultimately aiding clients in achieving financial success.
10. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in managing client relationships through regular consultations to assess financial status and objectives, offering advice on banking services and options to adapt to evolving circumstances.
11. Be an engaged member of the branch team, including mentoring other branch staff on relationship development and managing moderately complex to complex client needs.
12. May pursue additional licenses (Series 7 and Series 66) once the minimum licensing prerequisites are satisfied.
This SAFE position involves customer interaction and responsibilities that may include offering/negotiating terms and/or processing applications for secured transactions.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of customer service experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
3+ years of experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with clients and partners.
3+ years of experience in recommending products and services.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience in the financial services sector in one or a combination of the following: corporate, consumer, mortgage, investments, brokerage, or private banking.
Experience in recommending financial services products and services.
Successfully completed FINRA Series 6 and 63 exams (or recognized FINRA equivalents) to qualify for immediate registration.
State Insurance license(s).
3+ years of experience in a licensed financial services role.
Customer service orientation with experience managing complex transactions across multiple systems.
Proficient in proactively sourcing, acquiring, building, and maintaining relationships with clients and colleagues.
Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Knowledge and understanding of business processes to actively manage a portfolio of Wells Fargo clients to meet their needs and grow the business.
Knowledge and understanding of Branch Banking compliance controls, risk management, and loss prevention.
Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations.
Ability to educate and connect clients to technology and demonstrate the value of self-service digital banking options.
Experience utilizing strong business acumen to provide financial services consultation to small business clients.
Knowledge and understanding of financial services consumer lending products.
Ability to interact with integrity and professionalism with clients and employees.
High motivation with the capability to successfully meet team objectives while maintaining individual performance.
Experience in mentoring and coaching peers.
Job Expectations:

Adherence to Wells Fargo's sales practices and risk management culture.
Current registration for FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 (or FINRA recognized equivalents) is required for this role or must be completed within a specified timeframe.
For the following states where hired, FINRA Series 65 (or equivalent) will also be required to be completed within a specified timeframe: AK, AL, CT, DE, HI, IA, ID, IN, KS, MD, MI, MN, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NM, OR, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and WY.
The State of WY allows referral-only licensed bankers to receive the IAR registration without completing the Series 65/66 exam requirement.
This list of states is subject to change, and the Series 65 (or equivalent) licensing requirement will be based on current state regulations during employment.State Insurance license(s) are required for this role and must be completed within a specified timeframe.
Licensing requirements and expected completion timeline will be communicated to the candidate upon offer acceptance.
Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance. This position requires SAFE registration at the time of employment. Wells Fargo will commence the SAFE registration process immediately after your employment start date. The Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) website provides the MU4R questions and registration required for employment in this position.
Individuals in Loan Originator (LO) positions must meet the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau qualification requirements and comply with related Wells Fargo policies.
A current credit report will be utilized to assess your financial responsibility and credit fitness; however, a credit score is not included as part of the evaluation.
