Job Title: Orthodontic Assistant

At TN Specialty Dental Services, PLLC, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and successful running of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in maintaining patient flow patterns by seating patients promptly and beginning procedures.
  • Place separators, elastic chains, and wires.
  • Prepare teeth for bonding of braces and Invisalign attachments.
  • Scale cement and check patients for loose brackets or bonds.
  • Monitor oral hygiene of patients and instruct on correct brushing.
  • Deliver all instruments to sterilization for sterilization.
  • Keep drawers stocked, clean, and replenished.
  • Debrief patients and parents after appointments.
  • Take X-rays, CBCT, iTero scans, and impressions.
  • Chart notes for patients seen and chart scheduling of next appointments.
  • Answer questions for parents regarding treatment.
  • Assist the Orthodontist in any given procedure.
  • Anticipate what the doctor may need during an appointment and take action.
  • Clean the chair and move around the clinic with a sense of urgency.
  • Backup sterilization.
  • Perform side tasks daily and/or monthly as assigned by the Clinic Coordinator.
  • Attend all other staff meetings and daily huddles.
  • Abide by established office policies and procedures.
  • Represent the practice in a positive way inside and outside of the office.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of dental assisting experience is required (orthodontics preferred).
  • Be self-motivated, organized, and have a positive attitude.
  • Possess a great understanding of dental terminology.
  • Have excellent communication and written skills.
  • Have excellent public relations skills.
  • Work well with patients and team.
  • Be experienced in delivering high-level customer service.
  • Be committed to arriving on time daily and staying late as needed.
