Ground Paramedic

CareFlite is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Ground Paramedic to join our team. As a Ground Paramedic, you will be responsible for delivering safe and high-quality advanced emergency care to patients transported by our Ground Division.
Key Responsibilities- Operate emergency vehicles in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as CareFlite policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of medical and non-medical equipment on the ambulance.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on assigned vehicles and report any issues or required services.
- Assist flight crew in loading and unloading patients for helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft transports.
- Ensure that CareFlite is perceived positively by customers through professional and courteous interactions.
- Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and medical personnel to ensure a smooth transport process.
- Accommodate family members to the extent possible without compromising patient safety or other CareFlite personnel.
- Provide accurate and timely information to the CareFlite Communication Center to initiate, track, and close out missions.
- Meet special medical and comfort needs of patients to ensure a positive transport experience.
- Participate in the delivery of non-emergency and emergency patient care in accordance with CareFlite Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- Complete accurate clinical assessments of patients and report medical conditions to receiving facility personnel and/or family.
- Maintain accurate records of patient conditions and services rendered by CareFlite personnel.
- Ensure assigned vehicles are adequately stocked and cleaned according to CareFlite policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement activities as directed by supervisors.
- Identify opportunities to improve professional skills and participate in work-related projects.
- Support assigned partners in delivering patient care, lifting patients and equipment, and maintaining assigned vehicles.
- Foster a positive and respectful work environment by being tolerant of diversity and addressing coworkers in a respectful manner.
- Manage time effectively to ensure all job responsibilities are adequately covered.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with coworkers and the public, both orally and in writing.
- Demonstrate a positive approach to problem-solving and utilize the chain of command to resolve work-related issues.
- Exercise sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making, including airworthiness, clinical, and business determinations.
- Work independently without direction and adapt to changing situations and job duties.
- Maintain personal knowledge of area of expertise through industry contacts, literature review, and educational resources.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the CareFlite Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
- Monitor personal areas of strength and weakness and seek opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in response to changing priorities.
- Deal with conflict in an appropriate and effective manner.
- Exhibit a positive attitude in support of CareFlite and hospital management.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current State of Texas certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification.
- Current PHTLS Certificate or obtained within 6 weeks of hire.
- Current PALS Certificate or obtained within 6 weeks of hire.
- Current Dallas City Ambulance Attendant Driver permit.
- Current Texas Class C driver's license.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.
- 2 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services preferred.
