Responsibilities
As an AIRCRAFT ORDNANCE SYSTEMS SPECIALIST, this role is situated within the Egress Shop of the Aerospace Systems Section, Field Maintenance Branch, Maintenance Division.

The primary objective of this role is to conduct both on and off equipment maintenance on aircraft egress systems, which include components such as ejection seats, extraction and escape systems, and explosive elements of escape hatches and doors.

  1. Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
    Diagnoses, installs, removes, repairs, modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests various components including regulators, flow indicators, actuator motors, and ejection seats. Ensures safety and serviceability of systems prior to any maintenance actions.
  2. Inspection and Testing:
    Conducts thorough inspections of pressurization systems, canopy structures, and associated seals for damage and functionality. Responsible for maintaining Jet Assistance Take Off (JATO) systems when applicable.
  3. Installation and Modification:
    Executes installation, modification, and repair of aircraft egress systems. Analyzes technical documents and diagrams to resolve installation and maintenance challenges.
  4. Readiness Evaluations:
    Participates in various readiness evaluations and exercises, ensuring operational readiness.
  5. Additional Duties:
    May perform additional responsibilities such as structural firefighting, aircraft rescue operations, and maintenance of facilities.
