As an Optometrist at Walmart, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and vision services to our customers. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive eye exams and vision care services to patients, including routine vision care, contact lens fitting, and eye disease diagnosis and treatment.
- Prescribe and dispense medications and other treatment options as needed, using evidence-based care guidelines.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on patients' clinical presentation, using evidence-based care guidelines.
- Represent the company in vision care and patient engagement, delivering exceptional customer service through all patient interactions.
- Maintain and update patient information in vision center systems, ensuring timely, accurate, and confidential data.
- Assist vision center staff on best practices and procedures, ensuring adherence to state, local, and federal healthcare regulations and Walmart vision center guidelines.
- Perform administrative and retail tasks for the vision center as necessary, including financial transactions, patient registration, and retail transactions.
- Work with internal stakeholders, such as pharmacists and clinics, and external stakeholders, such as external healthcare professionals, to ensure overall coordinated and integrated patient care experience and high-quality customer service.
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in Optometry (OD) from an accredited optometry school.
- Licensed optometrist in good standing in the state of practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a retail or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of evidence-based care guidelines and best practices in optometry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
