Overview

The main objective of this role is to function as a security operations analyst and advisor, overseeing, strategizing, and coordinating security program mandates across various security domains (information, personnel, industrial, physical, computer, and communications security) to support collateral security, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Programs (SAPs).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides guidance and authoritative direction to counterparts regarding collateral security programs, Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), and Special Access Program (SAP) requirements.
  • Manages all security programs to safeguard the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) nuclear stockpile mission from espionage, terrorism, and unauthorized disclosure threats.
  • Implements and oversees collateral and SAP personnel security programs for the organization.
  • Administers collateral and SAP industrial security programs.
Requirements

Conditions of Employment

  • Males must be registered for Selective Service.
  • This position is designated as special-sensitive; the employee must be capable of obtaining and retaining a TOP SECRET (TS) security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Drug Testing: This position is classified as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program.
  • Work hours may extend beyond standard duty hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employee must maintain current certifications.
Qualifications

To qualify, candidates must meet the specialized experience requirements outlined in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level or equivalent in other pay systems. This includes applying expert knowledge of collateral and SAP security management to analyze and resolve complex security issues effectively.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be assessed based on your expertise in the following areas:
  1. Thorough understanding of a wide range of security concepts and practices to independently analyze and resolve complex security challenges.
  2. Extensive knowledge of security program relationships and proficiency in various security domains to implement and manage applicable security programs.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of security classification methods and eligibility for access to classified information.
  4. Ability to effectively plan, organize work, and meet deadlines while communicating proficiently both orally and in writing.
