Job Summary

The Budget Analyst plays a critical role in providing financial insights and analysis to support the university's operations and strategic planning. This position requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders across the campus.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast budget activity and identify trends.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior leadership and departmental managers.
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with financial staff and departmental managers to resolve budget-related issues and provide guidance on financial policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and policies, and ensure compliance with university and external requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems, including PeopleSoft and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business, finance, accounting, or a related field.

Salary Information

Level 27, Exempt Hiring Ranges.
