Job Summary

The UConn Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Vice President for Planned Giving to lead our comprehensive Gift Planning Program. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic growth and development of our planned giving program, fostering strong relationships with donors and prospects, and driving fundraising efforts to support the University's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive gift planning strategy to drive growth and increase revenue
  • Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth donors and prospects, providing personalized service and guidance to secure major gifts
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the foundation to identify and cultivate new prospects, and to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the gift planning team, including training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in gift planning, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and excellence in our program
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in major gift fundraising, with a focus on planned giving
  • Proven track record of success in securing major gifts, with a strong understanding of donor motivations and behaviors
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with donors, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines
