Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced chemical engineer to join our Materials Manufacturing team. This team is responsible for researching and testing nuclear fuel and cladding materials, including test design, specimen fabrication, and characterization. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with engineering, laboratory, facility, and compliance organizations to enable and conduct test programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, design, and develop laboratory equipment, including nuclear, chemical, mechanical, structural, and electrical components and systems.
- Develop models of unit operations and execute testing and analysis of data to test and verify process models.
- Develop and fabricate unique materials systems, including small-scale production demonstrations.
- Document progress, analyze results, and conduct presentations as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a science-related field, or equivalent experience.
- 9 years of relevant experience, or 7 years with a Master's degree.
- Shift Supervisor Part II qualified, or SIT and 3 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program.
- Currently or previously CRE qualified, or 6 years as SRE.
- Materials science, control systems, and chemical engineering.
- Data analytics, statistical design of experiments, and machine learning.
- Modeling of fluid dynamics and thermal transfer.
- Software programming skills in LabVIEW and Python environments.
- Experience in core material and core manufacturing technical areas.

Salary range: $114,000 - $178,800 annually. Salary is based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
