This role involves performing conventional aspects of structural engineering design and plan development for transportation projects, including bridges, culverts, and retaining walls. The ideal candidate will have experience with advanced design and analysis methodologies and be able to independently perform a variety of assignments related to structural engineering and bridge design.

Key Responsibilities:

* Design and/or document originator for all phases of transportation projects
* Prepare project calculations, drawings, specifications, and analysis reports
* Participate in bridge inspections and condition assessment
* Perform detailed checking of drawings and design calculations
* Maintain professional registration and licensure
* Provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred) from an ABET accredited program
* 4-10 years of progressive structural engineering design experience in steel and concrete bridges
* IL Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain license
* IL Structural Engineer (SE) license or ability to obtain license (preferred)
* IDOT and Illinois Tollway experience preferred
* Proficient in industry standard software including Microstation/OpenBridge/OpenRoads, MathCad, LEAP Bridge, MDX, LPILE, and LARSA
* Strong oral and written communications skills
* Ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with internal multi-disciplinary project teams
