MEP Manager Job Description

Brasfield & Gorrie is seeking a highly skilled MEP Manager to lead the effort in coordinating and managing the Commissioning process on Mission Critical projects. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review Contract Documents and make recommendations to ensure alignment with MEP trades.
  • Review MEP, OFCI submittals, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project drawings and specifications.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with project design and construction teams, both internal and external to the client organization.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other construction professionals to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems into the overall project design.
  • Assist with the management of MEP subcontractors throughout the project duration.
  • Implement Brasfield & Gorrie's Cx process throughout the project, from Level 1 to Level 5 Commissioning.
  • Facilitate quality assurance programs for owner-furnished equipment, including review of specifications, submittals, FWT, freight/logistics, care/custody, protection, installation, startup, and commissioning.
  • Manage Commissioning Software (CxAlloy) for the project, from checklist completion to issue management.
  • Review and Approve MOPS for Energizations/Tie ins/Fill and Flush, etc.
  • Review project documents related to installation and equipment, e.g., Torque, Testing, Startup Reports, etc.
  • Coordinate and lead equipment walkdowns to inspect and sign off for Energizations.
  • Develop and manage the Commissioning schedule, working with subcontractors and OFCI vendors for durations and sequence.
  • Work closely with the CxA to coordinate their schedule and assist with the completion of Level 4 & 5.
  • Actively participate in and/or lead internal and client meetings related to turnover and commissioning.
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor project staff, if applicable.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience with MEP construction and commissioning management.
  • A relevant degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field would be an advantage.
  • Thorough knowledge of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and low-voltage systems.
  • General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes, and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of the project.
  • Strong experience in managing relationships with owners' representatives, architects, engineers, and clients on a professional level while supervising subcontractors and vendors.
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Commissioning experience on large-scale Mission Critical projects is preferred.
