About the Opportunity
The Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas is seeking qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor pool. This posting is for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach introductory and advanced courses in News Writing, Photojournalism, Broadcast, Magazine Writing and Publishing, Race, Gender & Media, Sports, Food, Music and Opinion Journalism, and Digital Media for Journalists.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the school's mission and goals.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the school's programs and initiatives.
Requirements
- Master's degree in journalism or a related field.
- Video, Broadcast & Multimedia, Digital and Print and Photojournalism experience.
- Three years full-time experience in media and/or college teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching online classes.
Work Schedule
Varies based on assignment.
