About the Role

804 Technology is seeking a highly skilled Duty Drawback Specialist to join our team in a hybrid role. As a key member of our Customs Reporting, Controlling & Quality Management team, you will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and executing a compliant duty drawback program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management: Coordinate and maintain a compliant duty drawback program, including data and document collection, and auditing prior to claim submissions.
  • Broker Management: Direct the workload of duty drawback brokers, ensuring they have accurate data and documents to timely submit claims.
  • Refund Optimization: Review business import and export activity to ensure refund opportunities are maximized.
  • Bond Management: Monitor drawback bonds sufficiency and work with Customs Regulatory to make bond changes as needed.
  • Refund Management: Manage and document duty drawback refunds, ensuring allocation to the appropriate business area and reporting to Finance.
  • Process Improvement: Drive process improvement in close collaboration with Manufacturing, Accounting & Finance to maximize refund per manufactured unit.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Remain up to date on federal regulation changes impacting the duty drawback program and evaluate the impact to current processes.
  • Business Analysis: Conduct feasibility analysis of SEI and affiliate businesses eligibility to leverage Duty Drawback and Foreign Trade Zones.
  • Advisory Role: Advise U.S. business areas on Duty Drawback and Foreign Trade Zone questions and strategies to facilitate compliant duty optimization and recovery.
  • Training and Development: Develop and provide Duty Drawback related training to peers, colleagues, stakeholders, and businesses, as necessary to maintain a high level of compliance awareness and knowledge within the company.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent of education and experience in a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of successful experience in U.S. Customs / Import Operations.
  • Certifications: Licensed Customs Broker or Certified Customs Specialist is preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of CFR 15 and 19, with in-depth knowledge of Duty Drawback Regulations. Strong analytical skill, knowledge in data analytics is a plus. Ability to work with a team and independently, with an organized disciplined approach. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams. Strong project management and organizational skills.
