We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery department at Veritas Veterinary Partners. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our surgeons and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee appointments and manage client interactions throughout their visit
- Participate in in-patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures with our surgeons
- Obtain and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and fine needle aspirates
- Utilize imaging modalities for patient and procedural assessment
- Execute, induce, monitor, and recover sedation and anesthetic events
- Ensure accuracy in calculating and delivering anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs
- Review and understand medical records pertinent to patient care
- Provide empathy, comfort, and exceptional nursing care to patients, advocating for their needs
- Maintain equipment on a per-use basis to ensure patient safety and best practice care
- Communicate extensively with clients regarding post-operative care and medications
- Advanced knowledge of injectable and inhaled anesthetic agents
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and positive attitude
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary specialty setting
- RVT or VTS certification preferred, but not required for the right candidate
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment and develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
