Job Summary

The U.S. Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Food Service Worker Leader to join our team. As a Food Service Worker Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of food service workers in the accomplishment of work, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of food service workers in the accomplishment of work
• Ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively
• Relay instructions from the supervisor and get work started
• Set work pace and demonstrate work methods and provide work-related guidance
• Ensure that worksite materials and tools are available to complete work
• Report workplace injuries immediately to the immediate or higher-level supervisor, and to the Human Resources office in the absence of the immediate supervisor
• Check with supervisor on problems and check on work and meet productivity goals
• Ensure that employees follow security, safety, and housekeeping rules
• Conduct on-the-job training and instructions
• Perform supervisory duties in an emergency, or short-term and nonrecurring basis

Requirements

• Must have current Starbucks Barista Certification
• Ability to perform tasks with several steps and use judgment in the performance of sequential tasks
• Ability to lead employees in the accomplishment of work
• Ability to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and read and follow instructions
• Working knowledge of common sanitation procedures to prevent contamination, and perform work according to established safety guidelines

Working Conditions

• Often uncomfortably warm and noisy
• Exposure to minor cuts, bruises, burns, and scalds
• Possibility of slipping on wet floors
• Exposure to extreme temperatures of hot kitchens
