Job Profile Title: Operations Team Leader

How will you contribute to our success?

Your role will involve steering the team to surpass customer expectations. Your decisions will be informed by ongoing enhancements in operational metrics across three critical domains: Quality, Timeliness of delivery, and Material management, all aimed at maximizing profitability within the unit. Furthermore, you will ensure exceptional communication and support to customers, functional managers, team members, and various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership Management:

  • Assemble and guide the operations team, including engineering, testing, quality assurance, and direct staff, to meet customer and product demands.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements in processes and personnel by facilitating a forum for idea exchange within the team.
  • Set clear, measurable objectives to evaluate individual and team performance based on established KPIs (e.g., operational metrics, project timelines, knowledge of roles, personal development goals).
  • Provide ongoing feedback to Functional Managers regarding team contributions.
  • Review all internal and external business plans, process modifications, and personnel changes related to operations; strive for mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Communicate ideas clearly in both verbal and written formats, employing a suitable business style.
  • Adapt communication styles to suit individual team members effectively.
  • Act as a liaison between the Business Unit and Operations Unit.
Functional Management:
  • Gain insights into Functional business strategies aligned with the Campus strategic direction, focusing on supporting operations and customer needs.
  • Provide regular updates to Functional Managers, Business Unit Manager, and Operations Manager regarding strategy execution and resource requirements.
  • Identify necessary capital and capacity resources to fulfill the requirements of operations and customer products.
  • Collaborate with the Business Unit Manager to develop the monthly business unit forecast.
  • Explore innovative methods to reduce costs by optimizing processes and systems.
  • Utilize trend assessments and analyses to create timely operational forecasts, communicating results to relevant managers.
Technical Management:
  • Educate the operations teams on the importance of metrics management and collaboratively monitor all operational metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting and metrics oversight.
  • Ensure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and aligned with Lean principles.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service by proactively addressing and resolving issues.
  • Share knowledge and best practices with other Jabil facilities to enhance overall performance.
  • Handle all sensitive and confidential information with the utmost care.
  • Comply with all safety and health regulations associated with this role.
Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Operations Management.
Experience:
  • 5-7 years of supervisory management experience.
  • A combination of education and experience totaling 10+ years will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical documents, financial reports, and legal materials.
  • Capability to respond to inquiries from customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Proficient in presenting information to various managerial levels.
  • Familiarity with Electro-mechanical manufacturing and automation.
  • Advanced PC skills, including proficiency in Jabil's software tools.
  • Strong understanding of mathematical calculations and KPI metrics interpretation.
  • Problem-solving skills in diverse and variable situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in different formats.
  • Physical demands include the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Accessibility to both the production floor and office environments.
  • Vision requirements include frequent reading of documents and computer screens.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ASCM CPIM Certification.
  • LEAN or Six Sigma Certification.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Training in Program or Project Management.
Work Environment:
