Job Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently resolve engineering challenges and represent the organization in discussions to address significant issues and plan work.
  • Utilize advanced techniques to modify and enhance existing theories and practices within engineering disciplines.
  • Engage in projects that involve standard plans, investigations, and equipment with established precedents.
  • Handle assignments that may include equipment design, vendor assessments, system testing, specification preparation, process studies, and report generation.
  • Lead and coordinate significant engineering projects or multiple smaller projects with complex features.
  • Conduct research and develop innovative techniques and procedures for complex assignments.
  • Evaluate plans and criteria for various projects, ensuring feasibility and soundness of engineering evaluations.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent, along with relevant continuing education. Six Sigma Green Belt or higher is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience is required; ten years is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, including experimental design, engineering statistics, and workflow planning.
  • Proficient in industrial engineering techniques such as time studies and root cause analysis.
  • Adept at conducting productivity assessments and making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Capable of using Computer Aided Design software (AutoCAD) for layout revisions and equipment placement.
  • General knowledge of other engineering disciplines, enabling effective coordination on minor projects.
  • Strong leadership skills to drive innovation and the adoption of new technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage conflicts and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands:
The role may involve exposure to a manufacturing environment, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment and handling of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Travel Requirements:
Travel to various facilities for project support is expected, comprising 30-40% of the role, with potential for international travel.
